80 Years On – Passing the Baton of Peace to the Future

Sazae Pty Ltd (Head Office: Sydney, Managing Director: Ayumu Mizoshiri) is honoured to sponsor Pass The Baton 2025, an event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, hosted by the Japan Club of Sydney.

The day will feature first‑hand testimonies from war survivors, historical panel displays, origami activities and film screenings. It will be a space where people of all ages and backgrounds come together to learn, reflect and share—ensuring the “baton of peace” is carried forward to the next generation.

About Pass The Baton

Pass The Baton is an 80th‑anniversary commemoration event hosted by the Japan Club of Sydney.
It brings together Japanese and Australian communities to reflect on a pivotal moment in history, strengthen bonds, and share our collective past with future generations. In Australia, where opportunities to learn about the true impact of the atomic bombings are limited, hearing a hibakusha’s (atomic bomb survivor’s) first‑hand testimony offers an invaluable opportunity for peace education. These powerful stories not only educate younger generations but also support global efforts toward the abolition of nuclear weapons—reframing the issue from distant history to a shared and urgent challenge we face today.
